Everything they do is based on that idea. Being based on Chromium has some issues in addition to others discussed here but also foundational ones (ie consider there are some features UBlock Origin can do on Firefox based browsers but not Chromium ones etc), and there's a whole discussion about Chromium's viability and role.Īside from that Brave is run by a for-profit company that is essentially predicated on advertising. They're far from the worst, don't get me wrong, but they're not the best either. If you care enough about those features, its not much to ask to enable or disable them manually.Īs far as Brave is concerned, there are multiple issues ideologically and technically. Much of what you ask, especially blocking javascript entirely and perpetual incognito mode will never be the default of a major browser, as they're not how most (especially non technical) users want to experience the web wondering why everything is "broken". Firefox (several versions) can do all you ask and more with a few settings changed from about:config and/or addons added, so I'd encourage you to look there. ![]()
